Progress!
I have finally finished the first draft of my dissertation and have sent it to my director. Granted, it was a re-working of my prospectus, but it still is progress. Now, onto Lindbeck, Geertz and McClendon for the second chapter.
I am interested in American Baptists. My dissertation includes Missionary Evan Jones to the Cherokees. I was raise Southern Baptist, but have been a Pentecostal pastor for 26 years. Where I come from Baptists are intolerant of Pentecostals. Here in East TN they are friendlier. I suspect that it is about the fact that the Baptists that occupied the region during the Trail of Tears period were American Baptist. You seem tolerant.
